U.S. Army Archives 491st BG Database

We have found that the database is incomplete and has some errors. While we try to make corrections when we can, it is often difficult to verify information received from relatives or friends.
This engine searches the 491st Archive file only - not the entire 491st web site.

Currently, this search tool is configured to find any record that starts with the characters you enter. So if you aren't sure about the spelling, enter just the first few letters. The more characters entered, the more accurate the search results.

For example, selecting [Aircraft Serial#] and entering 42 in the [Look for:] box will return all the 42-##### aircraft in the database. Or, once you locate an individual using [Surname], you might enter his crew# into a new [Crew#] search to locate other members of the same crew.

Leaving the "Look for:" box blank will return all records that have an entry in the selected field.
For example, [Surname], with a blank [Look for:] will return all 5,282 records,
and [POW] with a blank [Look for:] will return all those listed as POW.
